    May 27th, 2017 was the day that the Akwesasne Veterans Memorial Monument was revealed to the Akwesasne community at Generations Park. It was a beautiful day with many community members in attendance. Some family members came to support their loved ones who are veterans, while others came to honour the veterans who have already passed.     On Sunday May 28th, 2017 the annual Memorial Day parade took place in Hogansburg at 12 p.m. sharp. The parade started at Mill Street and went all the way to the American Legion on Route 37.     Editor, The medical officers of health of several Canadian cities are discussing the merits of adding fluoride to their municipal water to prevent cavities in the teeth of young children. Adding fluoride to municipal water corrodes the pipes at the water plant and for a city the size of Cornwall, the fluoride costs around $50,000 per year.
