    The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s Hydro Quebec Office is informing the community that a scheduled Hydro Quebec power outage will occur from Sunday, June 11, 2017 at 11:59PM (overnight) through Monday, June 12, 2017 at 5:00AM. The scheduled outage approximate duration is 5 hours. The scheduled outage is for the districts of Tsi Snaihne and Kana:takon.     The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe held their annual elections on Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 9am to 5pm in the lobby of the Tribal community building. Michael Conners Jr., the Tribal Sub-Chief won with 413 votes, followed by Ron Lafrance Jr. with 318 votes and Sharlee Thomas with 269 votes. 7 votes were considered 'Spoiled' and 12 'Void'.     Akwesasne— On Saturday, June 3rd the Akwesasne 5K for Epilepsy took place at the Generations Park Tewatahitha Walking Trail in Akwesasne! This is the second year the Akwesasne Epilepsy Support Group has put on the 5k non-competitive walk/run to raise awareness on epilepsy and seizure first aid.     On Wednesday, June 7, 2017, an anonymous threatening note was brought to the attention of the Salmon River Central School administration, which caused Salmon to enter into their protocol of safety procedures to ensure the safety of all SRCS students and staff.
