    On Monday, November 14, 2022, Akwesasne Central Dispatch received a call of an unresponsive female who had overdosed on drugs at a residence on Kawehno:ke (Cornwall Island). Akwesasne Mohawk Police and Provincial Ambulance attended a residence and provided lifesaving measures, including administering naloxone (Narcan) to the unresponsive female. The female was transported to a local hospital and is expected to recover. Opioid overdose is preventable if the person receives basic life support and the timely administration of naloxone.     Local Akwesasronon attending University of Albany are petitioning the university to include the Ohenton Karihwatehkwen at their annual commencement speech.
