Christmas Enchantment 2022 Sells Out!

The Syne Recreation Committee has just finished another successful year of Christmas Enchantment. With a different format and layout, the crowds didn't disappoint at the SRC ran out of tickets at 2:30 – an hour and a half from when the doors closed.

Christmas Enchantment all started in 2002 when the Syne Rec Center experienced a major fire, and their insurance coverage didn't cover all repairs and renovations. Out of need and based on resourcefulness, the SRC turned an idea from neighboring Cornwall into an annual affair that attracts people from all over.

Christmas trees are donated by local businesses, organizations and programs and local families. They all come fully decorated along with some amazing gifts. Many are based on themes – a sports team, a girl or boys tree, a game tree, or a tree in memory of a family member or friends who has passed on.

The SRC started out with just twelve to fourteen trees and have grown to fifty trees in some years. This year the Syne Rec center was adorned with 39 trees all beautifully decorated and waiting for their new home.

The money made during the Christmas Enchantment fundraiser is used to fund the Committee's activities all year long. Mae Lazore-Green said on most years, the SRC will make between sixty to seventy thousand dollars. This year, their goal installing the newly purchased lights for their community ballfield.
