    Nearly a hundred people packed into Cornwall’s provincial courthouse last Thursday, Sept.30, to hear the long-awaited-for verdict in a trial against two Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service officers. Sgt. Kenneth “Kuy” Chaussi and Cst. Michael Biron were criminally charged following a 2008 police pursuit that ended when the suspect vehicle crashed into a car carrying an innocent elderly couple.     On September 21st, 2010 the Akwesasne Mohawk Police were patrolling on Kawenhoke when they observed an eastbound vehicle being driven at a high rate of speed.     This past May, ten community members signed up to participate in a friendly battle of the green thumbs pumpkin-growing contest. The contest has been going on since 2006 and is hosted by a group of employees at the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe. In the first year of the competition the winning pumpkin weighed in at around the 80-90 lb range.
