    On Friday, August 16, 2019 the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service, with assistance from U.S. authorities had taken into custody a suspect in connection with the recent homicide in Kana:takon. An extradition order was executed and upon release of charges authorized by a judge in Canada, the extradition will begin. At that time, the name of the accused will then be released to the public.     By Andy Gardner Massena Memorial Hospital is in the process of closing their intensive care unit (ICU) and using the beds for medical/surgical patients.     (August 18, 2019) On Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 6:24 p.m., the Akwesasne Mohawk Police responded to a report of a single vehicle accident on River Road in Tsi Snaihne (Snye) involving a utility terrain vehicle.
