Mental Health and Addictions Policy Analyst

 

The IFN is currently seeking a well-organized, service-oriented professional for the position of Mental Health and Addictions Policy Analyst. Under the direction of the IFN Executive Administrative Committee and the oversight of the IFN Director of Health, the Mental Health and Addictions Policy Analyst will be responsible for providing policy support pertaining to the IFN Communities' mental health and additions priorities and service gaps.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

Grade twelve (12) or equivalent required

Post-Secondary diploma/degree in mental health and addictions field, social services or related discipline an asset or

Three (3) years working experience in Mental Health and Addictions field or Social Services and experience navigating through various service agencies and creating service coordination networks

Experience working in one of the IFN Communities a definite asset

Developed Competencies

Candidates must have demonstrated success in the following areas:

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Essential computer competencies

Must have a solid understanding of Independent First Nations and be politically astute in recognizing the diversity amongst the IFN

Ability to establish priorities, develop action plans, prepare briefing notes/reports

Ability to be creative, conceptual thinking, and relationship skills

Research and analytical skills an asset i.e. scans and mapping exercises

Ability to take direction under restraint timelines to carry out IFN activities

Strong understanding of policy, program and evaluation processes

Ability to maintain confidentiality
