Indians Lead Series 2-0

A large crowd of Akwesasne Junior "B" Indians fans made the trip last Sunday to watch their team win their fifth straight 2017 Ontario Lacrosse playoff game with a win over the Kahnawake Hunters.

Final score 10-7 and a 2-0 series lead.

Russ Oakes scored six in the win and added three assists to climb to the top of the Eastern Conference playoff standings. Kainen Francis scored two and Skye Sunday and Nonkon Thompson added one apiece. Sunday and Kason Tarbell added four assists each.

For the Hunters Jake Rice and Tathe MacComber scored a pair each. Sako Kirby, Marc Pion and Stone Jacobs scored singles.

The Indians jumped to a 4-1 lead on goals by Oakes (2), Thompson and Francis.

In the middle period Kahnawake outscored the visitors 3-2 on goals by Sunday and Francis. The third period saw Akwesasne score 4 to the Hunters 3 to hold onto the win.
