Indian Time - A Voice from the Eastern Door

MASSENA -- Several Akwesasne students attending Massena Central High School will have work hanging in a May 20 exhibit of artwork by members of the senior class.

A painting by Konwahenrawi "Sage" Herne.

The event will be at the Massena Chamber of Commerce, 16 Church St., from 6 to 8 p.m.

The Akwesasne students include Konwahenrawi "Sage" Herne, Sabrina Sunday and Myeesha Ransom.

The pieces are in a variety of media, including paint, pencil and photography.

The works are by students in teacher Chad Simpson's classes. Most are independent art students, with a few by those studying in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program.

Admission is free.

Donations toward the MCHS Art Department will be accepted.

There will also be music and refreshments.
