    The annual Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Caucus was held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 in the lobby of the Tribal Community Building. The floor was opened for nominations for each respective position. Nominees could accept or refuse the nomination at the time of the Caucus, or by the close of business on Wednesday, May 11th.     Indian Time received notice late Wednesday, May 11, 2016, that the SRMT was postponing the referendum. We received the following statement: “The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Council received notification that the referendum questions originally scheduled for June 4th Tribal Election must be postponed. In the Bantam division the Storm and Mohawks tied 2-2 after one period but in the middle frame Kahnawake outscored them 3-1 for the 5-3 score.
