Akwesasne 5K for Epilepsy 2016

Many people came out to support the Akwesasne Epilepsy Support Group's virtual 5K non-competitive walk on Saturday, April 16th. The virtual 5K walk coincided with the National Walk for Epilepsy that was taking place in Washington, DC. The event kicked off at 10 am at Generations Park- Tewatahita Walking Trail. Participants of this event were gifted an Akwesasne Epilepsy Support Group t-shirt, a food ticket and prize entries. 5K participants had the chance to enter their name into a drawing for an inflatable 4-person raft, fishing gear, a tool set, a tent and fold up lawn chair set and a folding hammock. A cookout was also set up under the pavilion along with KB Entertainment's photo booth, which is owned and operated by Joe and Angie King. All donations and registration costs went to support the Akwesasne Epilepsy Support Group and the Epilepsy Foundation, so that a cure can be found.
