Swamp's Performance Automotive has earned Blue Seal of Excellence Recognition as prescribed by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of vehicle repair and service by means of voluntary testing and certification for automotive repair and service professionals.

To be eligible for this recognition, a company must have 75% of its automotive professionals ASE certified. In addition, there must be a certified technician in each area of service offered. To remain in the program, a business must renew each year and confirm their professionals' certification status. ASE Certification means that a person has passed tough, industry-developed exams.

Owner Casey Swamp could run the shop with no certifications, which is what makes the fact that he chose to be ASE certified all the more impressive.

"Any backyard mechanic can change parts, this recognition proves that we have the knowledge to. It gives credibility to our staff and the shop. It is the industry standard," said Swamp.

Swamp and all four employees of Swamp's have at least one certification under their belt. Swamp's pays for all the training and tests for their employees, and although you only need to have 75% of automotive professionals ASE certified to be eligible for recognition, Swamp's has gone above and beyond, being 100% certified in one area or another.

Employees are mandated to do 40 hours of training a year, so they are constantly training, which is important as new technologies come out each year in the automotive industry.

One mechanic, Owen White, is as qualified as a dealer technician, but even more so because he can work on any car make.

Over the past 12 years the business has grown substantially through training. Swamp's Performance Automotive not only employs certified staff and technicians, but uses that training to put on educational clinics for the community to gain knowledge about their vehicles.

Casey Swamp is always investing in new equipment, such as a scan tool with dealer capabilities and an alignment machine. They also provide a courtesy shuttle, roadside warranty and a credit program.
