Thayer Thompson K4, Royce Delorimier K4, and William Barnes K5 work at seeing how fast they can get their cars moving.

The gymnasium at the Akwesasne Mohawk School as bursting with activity on Thursday, February 12, for the Early Years Science Fair 2015. Headstart, K4 and K5 students along with their parents created science fair projects focused on the topic of "Transportation". The staff of Headtstart, K4 and K5 assembled various activities in the gymnasium for the Early Years Science Fair, which ranged from an obstacle course, sand box construction, vehicles used in winter construction, a complete wooden train track, and an enhanced hot wheels track among other activites. Plenty of parents and grade 8 students joined the Early Years students for the fun activities and a snack. Encouraging students at early and formative years to become interested in science makes for a strong educational foundation in later years.

Parents were busy with their children at the Science Fair, here Brenda Jocko plays with her son, Eben Square, Headstart, at the pattern block table.
