Carey Terrance of the Wild. In this game last week against Clarkson, the home Wild had five skaters and one goalie while the Clarkson club had three full lines. The Wild did a great job of keeping up with the deep Clarkson team and led at one point. But playing with no subs took its toll and Clarkson ran away with the game late in the third period.
Two local teams - Mavericks and Wild, play in the Northern Men's Hockey League against teams from Massena, Canton and Potsdam. The Mavericks home rink is Salmon River and the Wild play out of the Massena arena.
