Four days after the Massena Red Raiders claimed a 44-43 victory over Potsdam, the Sandstoners came to town for a rematch and left with a 60-40 victory.

The Red Raiders started out strong with an 18-13 lead at the end of the first period. However, Potsdam went to work in the second quarter with full-court pressure and struck for 11 straight points to lead 24-18 in three minutes. They outscored the Raiders 20-4 in the second to go into halftime with a 33-22 lead.
Senior Zach Rusaw led the Red Raider offense with 10 points followed by Tyler Haas with nine points. Joey LaBelle and Zevon Viskovich added five apiece while David Phillips and Xavier Viskovich netted four and three points respectively. Zach Frego and Rhoades Tarbell chipped in two points each.
“We started off well but Potsdam got their momentum going and we never got ours back,” said Massena Coach Tom Miller. The boys’ team will be home against OFA on Friday, Feb. 1st starting at 5:30pm. It will also be Athletes Fight Cancer night.
