Some of the biggest names in the lacrosse world are suiting up for teams in both the Three Nations Lacrosse League and the Quebec Senior Lacrosse League as the regular season winds down and the push for the Presidents Cup begins. The Snake Island Muskies of the TNLL are the hosts of this year’s Canadian Senior B Lacrosse Championship.

The Muskies were having early season problems flooring a full team and were sporting a mid-season record of 4-5. The Muskies made some moves as the Canadian Lacrosse Associations transfer deadline loomed, signing Josh Sanderson and Blaine Manning – who are teammates on the Brampton Excelsiors of Ontario’s Major Series Lacrosse.

Sanderson also plays professional lacrosse for the Boston Blazers of the National Lacrosse League. Manning just came off a successful season with the Toronto Rock, who won the 2011 NLL Championship. In 160 career NLL games Manning has 293 goals and 501 assists.

The Muskies also signed pros Rusty Kruger and Brandon Miller. Former Kahnawake Mohawks goalie Ben VanEvery was also picked up by the Muskies to backup Miller.

The Kahnawake Mohawks were another team that made some moves leading up to the signing deadline. The Mohawks brought back Callum Crawford, who spent two seasons with the Mohawks previously. In 75 career NLL games Crawford has 106 goals and 159 assists for 265 points, the majority coming the past two seasons with the Minnesota Swarm.

The Mohawks also signed brothers Patrick and Brodie Merrill, Steve Dietrich, Kasey Beirnes, Chad Culp and Kevin Dostie. They join Jamie Rooney and Luke Wiles (who rejoined the team on Friday). The Mohawks also added former Caughnawaga Indians players Nicky Albany, Chad Norton and Eddie Dickson to their lineup. The Mohawks complete lineup can be found here.

The Caughnawaga Indians also signed former Buffalo Bandits forward and Iroquois Nationals veteran Delby Powless. During his career, Powless has scored 74 goals and 127 assists in 68 NLL games.

The Akwesasne Braves were also busy and signed several players from last year’s President’s Cup Champion Onondaga Redhawks. The Braves signed a number of players including Brett Bucktooth, Jeremy Thompson, and Ron Cogan, Jr.
