Massena Raider Boys Hustle Past the Canton Bears

 

Zach Hopps looking to help move the ball up court against the Canton Golden Bears.

The Massena Raider Boys played host to the Canton Bears in a Central Division Basketball contest last Tuesday night. The Raiders enjoyed “retro” night by defeating the Bears 68-31.

The Raiders came out with their short shorts, terry cloth headbands and knee high tube socks only to find themselves behind 9-8 at the end of the first quarter. They settled down and pulled away to a 27-14 halftime lead.

Trevor Bacon led the Raider team with 21 points, blocked three shots and grabbed eight rebounds. Brady Condlin fired through with 14 points, seven rebounds, three assists and 2 steals. Matt Jenack tallied eight points and three assists. Zack Rusaw contributed seven points and eight rebounds.

Several other Raiders contributed to the winning effort. Josh Miller with 5 points and Troy Myers with 4 points, 4 steals. George Sloan (4 points), Conner Truax (2 points), Zach Hopps (1 point, 6 assists), and Jeff Park (1 point).

Tyler Thomas led the Golden Bears with 3 three pointers and 5 rebounds. Brandon Bartley struck for 5 points. Cody Ladison and Patrick McGraw added five points apiece while James Rexford chipped in three. Ben Kosher, Zach Hutchison and Adam Fobare tallied 2 points each.

Massena boys division record stands at 9-2 and 13-2 overall.
