Dee Hart competes in Kaged Kombat Fighting

Submitted by Kim Loran

On April 17th, Kage Kombat Fighting took place in Rutland VT, on the St. Joseph College Campus, local fighter Derek “Dee” “Homicide” Hart fought against Tristen Umstader in the 145 weight class. Kaged Kombat Fighting consists of three 3-minute rounds. At the end of three rounds if both fighters are still standing the judges determine the winner.

Dee started out the first round with the determination to win; both fighters exchanged hits, kicks and body slams.  After the first three minutes the fighters went to their respective corners to be taken care of by their corner men, which one of them happens to be, Dee’s younger brother Brett.

In the second round, Dee delivered a “thai” kick to the rib of his opponent and then a hip toss sending him to the mat. Some of these moves Dee has been working on during his training. They paid off: Dee put an “arm bar hold” on his opponent and he “tapped out”.  Dee was declared the winner of his match, much to the excitement of the 25-30 fans who traveled from Akwesasne to watch his fight!  He appreciates and thanks everyone who attended his fight and cheered him on!

Dee’s record is now at 3-0.

Congratulations from your family and friends, good luck to you in your future fights!
