The Akwesasne Adult Broomball league continued last Friday with the Pawn Shop playing back to back games. In their first game Jake Lazore scored twice as they tied with Ray Jan Windows and Doors 3-3. Dwight Bero scored once. In their second game they took on Ohnenatas the and lost 6-3. Several teams from North Franklin hosted teams from all over the northern region for a Play Day. This is a type of tournament where the rink is divided into two and two games are played at the same time. The play continues after a goal is scored so the action is continuous. Treyton Sunday had a big game scoring five goals, which were the first five goals for the Akwesasne Wolves Pee-Wee's as they defeated the South Stormont Selects 7-5 last week on Cornwall Island. Aiden Peters also had a big game assisting on those five while adding one of his own and Talon Leaf each picked up three assists. Ronontakehte David scored the other Wolves goal. The local Little Hawks Youth Broomball team hosted a few teams from Finch, Ontario last weekend on Cornwall Island and sent them home with a few blowouts. In game one the Akwesasne Sprouts won their game 8-1 and in game two the Pee-Wee's won 8-1. Another Finch team was to take on the Bantam/Midget team but they did not show.
