  • Kaha:wi Dance Theater Presents "The Honoring"

    Kaniethonkie|Jun 12, 2014

We are privileged to live in a time and place without war. Unless you make a conscious decision to enlist, we can live a lifetime without ever hearing a gunshot intended to take a life, a cannon or bomb intended to demolish its target, or to be ambushed in the dark. Think for moment what it would be like if you lived in the 1800's. War was all around. The Haudenosaunee Nations, the communities, the families, all were touched by war. Every man, woman and child was affected by the drama and...

Letter to the Editor The Effects of Shoplifting Some people may think shoplifting is a victimless crime but truth is it has a great impact on consumers, retailers and our community, as well as the shoplifter him/her self. In the spur of the moment a shoplifter may not recognize the effect it has on self and/or others. The lowering of one’s self-worth, the way others will look at you. The embarrassment, that comes with being caught. Stealing also has a great effect on consumers and retailers. With the loss of revenue from stolen items r...

  • Letter to the Editor

    Jun 12, 2014

About 5 months ago, a crew from the American side came and dug up a fire hydrant on my property. I live on Johnson Rd. so it is the Canadian side. For months I've been trying to get someone to come and clean up the mess, but nobody has come. They took up all the topsoil and there is still a big hole. Years ago I could have just fixed it myself, but now I can't. Is this the way to treat the elders? Les Phillips...
