    As of 7:30pm on Tuesday evening at least 20 roads in the Franklin and St. Lawrence Counties were closed due to flooding from spring rains and melting snow. The St. Regis, Raquette, Salmon and Grasse River all flooded with their river banks flowing into back yards, side lawns, pastures, and school yards. St. Lawrence County Emergency Services reported closing at least 5 roads due to flooding and unsafe crossings. CR 53, RT 420, CR 49, CR 15 and State Highway 58 all had partial closing re-routing...

    Akwesasne – The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Council has recently approved an amendment to the Non-Member Fishing Permit Requirements and Law (TCR 2011-52). The SRMT Compliance Department, in collaboration with Tribal Members who are avid fishermen, recommended changes to protect the fishing resources during spawning seasons. The District has been working with the New York State Department of Health to address the trace levels of acetone and update the current water filtration system until a capital project could be approved by the voters.     On Friday, April 11, 2014 the Akwesasne Mohawk School received a huge boost to their Art Block classes with a visit from the 2010 JUNO award winning band "Digging Roots." The band consists of lead guitar and vocalist ShoShona Kish and Raven Kanatakta, on drums is Paul Brennan and bass guitar is Leo Valvassori.
