(April 14, 2020) – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has modified a plan to address sediment contaminated with polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) at the Grasse River Superfund Site (also called Alcoa Aggregation) in Massena, New York. The modification calls for removal of an additional 90,000 cubic yards of sediment from an area of the river near Snug Harbor, instead of capping. The Akwesasne Child and Family Services partnered with the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne and CKON Radio to host a special edition of Radio Bingo.     By Andy Gardner Two Akwesasne residents have tested positive for novel coronavirus, which causes the COVID-19 respiratory disease. According to the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe Emergency Operations Center, they are both being monitored by Franklin County Public Health. Officials declined to say where in the community they are, citing patient privacy concerns.     The federal minister of Indigenous Services Marc Miller says that even though the number of COVID-19 cases on reserves remains low, no one should be complacent.
