    Akwesasne, NY - Members of the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Police Commission attended the monthly tribal meeting held on March 7, 2015 to formally announce the new Chief of Police for the Tribal Police Department.     Akwesasne, NY – The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe has received verification that the 39-acre parcel that was subject of a Federal Land In Trust application, located in the Town of Fort Covington has been taken into trust. The 39-acre parcel was purchased by the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe back in 1999 for $6,500 as part of a Franklin County property tax sale.     On Tuesday, March 10, the Investing in the Potential Charitable Foundation, an initiative of the Akwesasne Convenience Store Association, presented a donation to representatives of the Akwesasne Little NHL teams. There are eight teams traveling to the 44th annual Little Native Hockey League Tournament in Mississauga on March 16 to March 19, 2015.     Submitted by Amy Lazore For six weeks the Salmon River Girl's Varsity Lacrosse team held a lacrosse clinic at the Kanatakon School gym. Every Friday night, the team taught young girls aged 5-11 basic lacrosse skills. The girls chose to do the clinic to repay the generosity of the community for supporting the fund that allowed the team to travel to California to play.
