Most marchers parked at the road beside American customs, and prepared to march. Beginning at around 10:30 marchers crossed the south span bridge, and a second group followed not long after. Both groups merged, and with singers and drummers at the fore, proceeded to march across the north span bridge over to Cornwall, Onta...

  • Idle No More Actions: Why the Natives are at the Point of Outrage

    Doug George Kanentiio|Jan 10, 2013

There are good reasons for Canada’s Native people to be at the point where frustration, impatience and anger rush together in a blend of powerful emotions bordering on rage. It is to the credit of Native people that they have adopted peaceful, non-confrontational tactics as they march across highways and bridges or gather in malls and city centres in flash mobs to let the nation know they will no longer accept the dictates of the federal government, that the time has come to compel Canada to abide by its treaty obligations and remove the s...

  • Letter to the Editor

    Jan 10, 2013

I have read the recent article printed in “Letters to the Editor” and submitted by some of the siblings of the late Matthew Elmer White, namely Harold White, Carl White, Nelson Dave White and Robert White. By leaving out significant facts the Whites have put in print misleading and erroneous information that leaves the wrong impression. The matter has already been decided in court, but the Whites have failed to mention that fact. My common law partner Matthew Elmer White died on March 3, 2005. We had no children. Mathew did not have a Last Wil...

  • Letter to the Editor

    Jan 10, 2013

In October my brother and I went to Leon’s to purchase my birthday gift and a gift for my niece. We purchased a dining room table and 4 chairs for my niece and a side-by-side fridge was my birthday gift. While I was there I decided to purchase a microwave and a set of coffee tables. We were told after we purchased these items that the fridge had to be ordered and would be in about 1 week. That was fine. We brought home the microwave and was told the rest would be delivered. Well when they delivered the dining table set, and the coffee t...

  • IDLE NO MORE – In House

    Jan 10, 2013

This is an invitation to the community who has estate or land issues and are seeking resolution. The estate of Matthew Elmer White has never been a question of the true owners, but the question of how a Certificate of Possession (CP) can be issued to another party with no merit. To repeat what our family has stated before in Indian Time, we will prove the fraudulent documents that were filled out. It’s very important to our future generations that no registry department shall ever attempt to make any kind of transfer without the involvement o...
