The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Vocational Rehabilitation (TVR) sends out a huge niawen:kówa to the community members, staff, participants, and volunteers who attended our 22nd disABILITY Awareness Day and made the event a big hit!.

Thank you to the local businesses who donated the many wonderful door prizes for the event, they include: Adirondack Auto Parts, Wild Bills One Stop, Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort, Speedway Plaza, CAA Management Group, Pommier Jewellers, Smith’s Lumber, Peets Jewelers, J&J Insurance, Casa Paolo restaurant, East End Convenience, Adams’ Marina, King’s Marina, Mexi’s Cornwall, Seacomm FCU, Kid’s Korner, JCPenney, 3 Feathers Internet Café, Tarbell Management Group, Hummingbird Giftshop, CKON and Tractor Supply Co.

And also Thank you to the service programs who participated and set up tables with information and giveaways, they include Cornell Cooperative Extension/SNAP-Ed, SRMT Employment & Training Services, SRMT Family Support Program, New York State ACCES-VR, SRMT Intensive Preventive Program, SRMT A/CDP Prevention Program, Disability Rights New York, SRMT Mental Health, SRMT Health Promotion and Planning, NY Commission for the blind, SRMT Child Support Enforcement Unit and SRMT Social Security Disability Benefits, Akwesasne Group Home, Sahatihahara’:ne Detox Center, ACFS Family Support Prevention & Foster Care Program, SRMT Environment Division and Air Quality Program, SRMT Office for the aging, Clarkson University AT Resource & Education Center, Jordan’s Principle, Akwesasne Labour Market, SRMT Tribal Police, and vendors Debbie Ransom, Cheryl Bruyere, and Crystal Henry.

Throughout the past 22 years, this event has proven very effective for getting information out to our community members about what our programs have to offer for assistance regarding disabilities, services associated with disabilities, and in gaining employment. Thank you all for helping spread awareness and we hope to see you again in 2024!
