Andrew B. "Angel" Laffin

 

Andrew B. "Angel" Laffin, 62, Wolf Clan, a lifelong resident of Akwesasne, passed away peacefully Monday, July 3, 2023, at his home, 55 Paul Cree Memorial Road, Akwesasne.

Angel was born on December 6, 1960, in Massena, New York, the son of the late Basil and Agatha "Hattie" (Lazore) Laffin.

Angel married Debbie Cree and together they welcomed a son, O'Donald, affectionately named "Odie". The marriage ended in divorce. He dedicated his life to various trades that included 10 years of service to the United States Army Airborne 82nd and Rangers Unit, Local 711 and Local 440 Ironworkers, Lazore's Construction, Delormier Construction, Hydro Yacht of Akwesasne, repairing small engines and his latest passion of carving wood. His passion for work and adventure took him to Northwest Territories where Digga Enterprises in Fort Providence employed him.

Angel was predeceased by his parents, Basil and Hattie Laffin, his son, O'Donald Laffin, his brothers, Moses, Alfred "Bryan", and his sisters, Yvonne, Patti (Romica), Veronica, many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

The Laffin's ask that family and friends join them for a memorial service honoring Angel's life on Wednesday, July 19th, 2023, at Tsi Snaihne Homemakers from noon to 4p.m. Fathers Jerome Pastores will be officiating a service at 2p.m. A traditional meal will follow.

Angel's family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne's Home Care Home Support Team.

Cremation arrangements were under the care and guidance of the McGerrigle Funeral Home, 70 rue Lambton, Ormstown, Quebec.
