Indian Time - A Voice from the Eastern Door

BUCKSHOT, Mary Ann “Warianne” – passed away peacefully with family at her side, on Monday January 30, 2023 at the Cornwall Community Hospital at the age of 79 years. Mary attended school at St. Regis Village School and soon moved to Toronto working as a Nurse’s Aide for many years before returning home. She was the caregiver to her mother, while she cared for many as a Personal Support Worker at Iakhihsohtha Lodge Home for the Aged. Mary also helped with working at the family business Buckshot’s Convenience Store. She will be greatly missed.

Loving sister of Cecilia “Sesi” Buckshot, Donald Buckshot (late Karen) and Dominic Buckshot (Arlinda).

She will be forever remembered by her nieces and nephews Lilian Laswell, Robert Lazore (Joan), Kevin Lazore (late Helen), Lucy Lazore Jacobs (Clinton), Constance Lazore Kyle Lazore, Mathew Lazore (Dawn), Bonnie Jo Baker (Ben), Alexis and Danielle Buckshot. She will be missed by her many grandnieces and grandnephews as well as her many cousins and her many friends.

Predeceased by her parents Peter and Louise (née Lazare) Buckshot and by her sisters Margaret Pierce (late Rodney), her twin sister Mary, Ann Lazore (late James) and an infant sister.

The family will be in attendance at LAHAIE AND SULLIVAN CORNWALL FUNERAL HOME, WEST BRANCH, 20 Seventh Street West, (613-932-8482) on Monday, February 6 from 2:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m.  and on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. until time of service. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday February 7, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Regis Catholic Church with cremation to follow.

As expressions of sympathy, Memorial Donations to the Iakhihsotha Lodge would be appreciated, in lieu of flowers.
