Administrative/Financial Controller

Akwesasronon Shonatatén:ron is seeking a well-rounded individual who can handle the everyday affairs associated with a community organization. This not only entails Administrative work but will include the daily bookkeeping as well. The details below outline the responsibilities for both the administrative as well as handling financial matters for the organization.

Administrative Assistant Responsibilities:

Provides administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office.

Answers phone calls, schedules meetings and supports visitors.

Carries out administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, binding, scanning etc.

Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning administrative projects and expediting work results.

Makes travel arrangements for senior staff such as booking flights, cars, and hotel or restaurant reservations.

Exhibits polite and professional communication via phone, e-mail, and mail.

Team supporter by performing tasks related to organization and strong communication.

Ensures operation of equipment by completing maintenance requirements, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment and evaluating new equipment and techniques.

Provides information by answering questions and requests.

Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, placing and expediting supply orders.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Ability to travel and stay long periods while research its being completed.

And other duties as requested.

Financial Responsibilities

Plans and administers accounting system for Akwesasronon Shonataten:ron

To provide records of assets, liabilities, and financial transactions.

Advises on accounting issues.

Assists in preparing overall budgets, plus developing and handling travel budgets.

Maintains accounts and bookkeeping activities such as:

cash disbursements journal

receipt journal

payroll journal

general journal

Verifies accuracy of documents, records relating to payments, receipts as well as other financial transactions.

Acts in a supervisory capacity in the absence of the Executive Director.

Reports on safety and security standards related to her/his financial work.

Work Hours: Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm (Work hours will shift according to need)

Administrative Writing Skills

Apple and/or Microsoft Office Skills

Comprehends Managing and financial Processes

Organizational skills

Analyzing and Filing Information

Professionalism

Problem Solving

Inventory Control

Verbal Communication

Post-Secondary courses in relevant fields.

3 years of office experience

Working knowledge to appropriate administrative and financial software including: Apple software, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat

Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance
