Luminaries were lit in memory of loved ones we've lost to an overdose and place along the walking path at Generations Park.
Personal, revealing, and heartfelt messages were left for those lost to addiction.

On Wednesday, August 31st, the Saint Regis Mohawk Health Services Alcoholism/Chemical Dependency Program hosted an International Overdose Awareness Day event along with the Akwesasne Mohawk Police service and Tekanikonrahwa:kon Wholistic Health and Wellness program. The Overdose Awareness Day event was held at Generations Park.
International Overdose Awareness Day is an annual campaign to end overdose. This beautiful community luminary event acknowledged the grief felt by family and friends left behind by those who have lost their battle with addiction. Let's continue to work together to create a safer, healthier, and supportive community to help end overdose.
