Qualifications
Fluent Mohawk speaker or Functional level Mohawk speaker
Must have 1-2 yrs. experience working with school age children
Experience maintaining an immersion environment
Ability to teach outside of classroom, in the woods, at the river, in the garden, etc.
Ability to recite the “Ohenton Karihwatekwen”, sing traditional songs and dances, etc.
Creative, resourceful and ability to work without supervision
Must have a positive attitude and be flexible, dependable, and punctual
Duties
To interact with children using Kanien’keha throughout the day.
To role model everyday activities and provide opportunities for the children to help and participate
To supervise children outside at all times.
Establish a trusting relationship with children, co-workers and parents
Establish daily routines and classroom management
Maintain a clean, organized and safe environment at all times
To comply with current AFS policies and procedures.
