AKWESASNE DEATH BENEFITS

Akwesasne Death Benefits (ADB) committee recognizes the financial hardships on individuals and families during the last two years due to Covid-19, lay-offs, business closure and loss of employment.

This year ADB will be offering a new and affordable way to join.

We will be offering Akwesasne members to start a Conditional Akwesasne Death Benefits Membership Application. The conditional application will be filled out completely; ID (status card, Tribal ID or Red Card) and a down-payment will be required. Payments will be made from April 8th and MUST be paid in full by August 13, 2022. Also on this date the person must attend the Snye Homemakers building to complete the enrollment form. The application for Akwesasne Death Benefits Membership becomes effective September 1, 2022.

Starting April 8, 2022, interested community members may contact any collector listed below to sign up as a Conditional member.

The fee to sign up is $150.00 per person; this includes a $50.00 registration fee and $100 for 20 advances.

We are also requesting that current members contact Homemakers to update their previous application information with any changes such as: phone number, e-mail and beneficiary information.

If you are interested in joining the Akwesasne Death Benefits please contact the collectors in your district.
