Submitted by Randy Montour

Emergency Medical Technician Randy Montour from Akwesasne Mohawk Ambulance volunteered his van and his Sunday to the 20th anniversary Ironman Lake Placid marathon.

Randy's van was loaded with essential items like water, ice, spare bicycle tires, pumps and first aid kits. He drove the scenic State Route 86 as Race Support between Wilmington and Jay, NY looking for participants in distress.

The Ironman consists of a 2.4-mile swim, followed by a 112-mile bike ride and then a full 26.2-mile marathon.
