Indian Time - A Voice from the Eastern Door

October 17, 2018. Everyone has had car issues where they weren't sure what was wrong or what to do. Many will often ignore it until it becomes a very serious problem that causes the car to break down. That's the main reason why Casey Swamp came up with an idea help teach people on the basics of car care.

"People were unsure what to ask about their cars and drive their cars until the wheels fall off, " Swamp said at the beginning of the class, "I just want to keep people to be informed so they know what to do in case of an emergency."

Swamp along with Buck Cook would go on to joke while also showing the class step by step how to recognize a problem as well as how to check the oil.

During the demonstration, Swamp explained how an oil change goes and why it's important to get one. For a hands-on experience, they allowed each class member to check the oil in the car, while also explaining what each part of the car engine is and what it does. Swamp and Cook even explained what each light on the dashboard meant when lit and which part to examine and how to deal with it. And even when to call a tow truck to help.

With this hands-on experience, it lets someone really get an understanding of what goes on under the hood and how to fix it; and to be safe. Everyone who attended the class received a gift bag with a cup, a pamphlet with reminders and notes about the dashboard lights, a small notepad, and a pair of work gloves. There was also a chance for someone to go home with a door prize which including a Car First Aid kit, tires, and sprays to give that car an extra shine. Everyone who attended all had a good time and would go home knowing now what to ask, what to do, and not to drive their car till the wheels fall off.
