TWO CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF COCAINE W/ INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE

Two locals are charged with possession of cocaine after allegedly being found with more than 11 kilograms of cocaine.

Localsyr.com is reporting that Louie Lazore and Thomas Roundpoint were pulled over around 3 p.m. Aug. 24. Police had received a tip that a white Ford F350 would be transporting drugs along I-81 South, the website reported.

Troopers told localsyr.com that Lazore claimed to be driving to the state fair and gave police permission to search the truck. A state police K9 found the cocaine hidden in a spare tire underneath the bed of the truck, the website said.

They were each charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. DEA assisted state police in the investigation, localsyr.com said.
