Father's Day Frisbee Golf at Generations Park

Last Tuesday, June 6th, the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe Community Nutrition and the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne CHASE Committee paired up to host some games for Father's Day. Children were encouraged to bring a male role model to come and play some frisbee golf. Stations were set up and manned by a program representative, where each father/child duo would be able to play frisbee golf. All participants were able to enter their name into a draw for a new grill. After the games were complete, a barbecue style meal was served, and families could visit and relax after playing the games. Despite the fact it was a very rainy day, a few families came out to join in on this night of fun. This event was a great way to celebrate and honor fathers and male role models in our community, while encouraging family time for parents and children. Hoping that all of the fathers in our community have an awesome Father's Day, and great job to all who participated in this event.
