The SRMT Seniors Center was host to all Chief and Sub Chief candidates on Tuesday, May 16, 2017. The meeting was moderated by Ruth Herne Bell and began at 6pm and closed just after 8pm. After each candidate introduced themselves and presented their political platform, community members were given the opportunity to question any or all candidates on a variety of issues facing Akwesasne. Another 'Meet the Candidates' meeting was held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the former IGA building.
