AKWESASNE MOHAWK POLICE SERVICE POLICE BLOTTER

(March 28, 2017) On March 22, 2017 the Akwesasne Mohawk Police arrested Abraham Thomas Gray, age 31, on an outstanding Bench Warrant issued from the Valleyfield Provincial Courts. Mr. Gray was held in custody to appear in court to answer to the charge of Impaired Operation contrary to section 253(1)(a) and 255(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

HOGANSBURG, FORT COVINGTON RESIDENTS CHARGED IN DRUG SWEEP

Hogansburg and Fort Covington residents are facing felony drug charges after being caught up in a drug sweep that yielded 10 arrests, according to Malone Village Police.

Jovee S. Tatlock, 23, of Hogansburg is charged with three counts each of third-degree criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance, all felonies. She allegedly sold and possessed oxycodone. Tatlock was arraigned in court and remanded to the Franklin County Jail, Malone, in lieu of $2,500 bail, police said.

Joshua A. Savoir, 31, of Fort Covington is charged with single counts of third-degree criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance. He was arraigned and released on his own recognizance, police said.

Other defendants include:

• Corey M. Rockhill, 27, Malone, charged with fourth-degree criminal sale and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, held on $5,000 bail.

• Gerald G. Hart, 36, Malone, charged with fourth-degree criminal sale and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (Suboxone), released under probationary supervision.

• Jonathan West, 25, Malone, charged with fourth-degree criminal sale and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, arraigned and released.

• William P. LaPlant, 47, Malone, charged with fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (Suboxone), two counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and single counts of fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (Adderall) and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, arraigned and held on $10,000 bail.

• Shane W. Monaghan, 26, Malone, charged with single counts of third-degree criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance, arraigned and held on $5,000 bail.

• Patience F. Larocque, 25, Malone, charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (cocaine), third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (alprozolam, generic for Xanax) and fifth- and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, arraigned and held on $10,000 bail.

• Richard Honahan, 53, Malone, charged with two counts each of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance (oxycodone) and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

CONTRABAND SEIZURE AT HAMILTON ISLAND SHORELINE PROPERTY

(March 27, 2017) Cornwall, Ontario – On March 3, 2017, as part of their ongoing efforts to investigate and combat smuggling in the area, members of the Cornwall Regional Task Force (CRTF) conducting patrols along the St. Lawrence River shorelines located 33 bags of contraband fine cut tobacco on a Hamilton Island seasonal property. The tobacco, weighing approximately 595 kilograms, was seized by police.

CRTF’s investigation into this matter continues.

St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police blotter, March 17-23:

On March 17, police ticketed Derek D. Hopps, 25, of Hogansburg, NY for expired registration. Ticket is returnable to Bombay Town Court on April 24.

On March 17, police ticketed Elizabeth M. Sawatis, 25, of St. Regis, Quebec for speeding. She was to have appeared in court on March 27.

On March 17, police ticketed Marie S. Lazore, 35, of Akwesasne, Ontario for inadequate headlight and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Tickets are returnable to Bombay Town Court on April 11.

On March 18, police ticketed Madeline Y. Cottier, 70, of Cornwall, Ontario and Tracie L. Cook, 31, of Hogansburg for speeding. They were issued appearance tickets for later dates.

On March 19, police charged Kori J. Jackson, 22, of Hogansburg with driving while intoxicated and fail to keep right. Tickets are returnable to Bombay Town Court on April 11.

On March 19, police ticketed Awentsaieshon Stacey, 23, of Kahnawake, Quebec for unlawful possession of marijuana. Ticket is returnable to Bombay Town Court on April 11.

On March 19, police charged Brian A. Jacobs, 29, of Hogansburg with petit larceny. Ticket is returnable to Bombay Town Court on Bombay Town Court on April 11.

On March 20, police charged Raun P. Mitchell, 34, of Hogansburg with a warrant. He was arraigned in Bombay Town Court and remanded to the Franklin County Jail, Malone in lieu of $1,500 bail or $3,000 bond. He was to have returned to court on March 21.

On March 20, police ticketed Mary E. Curleyhead, 48, of Akwesasne, Ontario for speeding. Ticket is returnable to Tribal Court on April 10.

On March 22, police ticketed Chelsea R. Oakes, 32, of Hogansburg and Stephen Simmons, 53, of Constable for speeding. They were released with appearance tickets for Tribal Court in April.

On March 23, police ticketed Sarah Cook, 26, of Akwesasne, N.Y. for expired inspection. Ticket is returnable to Tribal Court on April 3.

On March 23, police ticketed Blaik Kirby, 51, of Kahanawke, Quebec for speeding. Ticket is returnable to Tribal Court on April 3.

On March 23, police ticketed Michael D. Loran, 47, of Hogansburg for third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Ticket is returnable to Bombay Town Court on April 18.

New York State Police:

Michelle David, 31, of Hogansburg was charged with sixth-degree conspiracy at 10:30 p.m. March 23 at the St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police Department. She was ordered held pending court action, police said. The charge stems from a complaint filed Feb. 15 at 4:45 p.m., police said.

Roy A. Tarbell, 31, of Hogansburg was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI and drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on the roadway at 12:35 a.m. March 27 at the Massena port of entry. He was released with an appearance ticket.

Massena Police:

Jared M. Gray, 37, of Hogansburg was charged with first-degree aggravated operation, felony and DWI and DWAI, both misdemeanors. He was also charged with traffic infractions, obstructed plate and two counts of failure to keep right. He was charged at 1:11 a.m. March 26 on Willow Street in Massena and released with appearance tickets, police said.
