Members of the Saint Regis Mohawk Seniors have tried every kind of bowling; 10 pin, Wii bowling and bowling in Malone. They were ready for something different and more exciting. So with a short drive across the bridge, five seniors took on five-pin bowling at Olympia Bowl Center and had so much fun, they are looking for others to join them.

Rosemary Jacobs stated, "This is by far the best activity program ever. I enjoy it so much. We laughed so hard, we had tears in our eyes. And if we had that much fun, I am sure others will as well. We are inviting everyone to join us for a great afternoon."

Kerry Montour added, "I enjoyed it! It's entertaining and it would be great to have more people join us."

Five-pin bowling is similar to regular ten-pin, the length and width of the lanes are the same and you wear the same kind of shoes, the scoring is done by letters which may take getting used to and you bowl two frames at a time with three shots each. One big difference is in the size of the ball – it's hand held and just a bit bigger than softball or about the same size as a bocce ball making it easier to throw but harder to aim. And that makes all the difference in whether you knock any pins down or just make for a great time laughing out loud.

The Seniors make this activity outing once a month, on "Senior Thursday", from 1pm to 4pm in the afternoon. Transportation is provided. The cost is $1.75 for the shoe rental and five-bucks for three games. For more in formation, please call 518 358 2963 and ask for Katie, Kerry or Emily.
