Saturday, January 28th: 4-H Winter Horse, Dog and Goat Symposium

9:30am – 2:00pm at North Star Building, Malone

An informative day for all ages and abilities. Workshops and topics include: No Foot/No Horse, Scrapbooking-Save your memories, Bits and their uses, Dog Agility/CGC/Rally and How Do I get Started, Goat Health 101, and other horse classes for youth. Sunday, January 29th: Log-Grown Shiitake Mushroom – Viability for Small Farms Workshop

9:00am – 5:00pm at Paul Smith College VIC, Paul Smiths

The cultivation of shiitake offers farmers and woodlot owners a good opportunity to utilize their forested lands while turning a profit. Anyone who a resident of New York State and growing commercially, starting up, or considering commercial production is welcome to attend. The workshop content will cover post-production aspects including safety, sanitation, marketing, and regulations.

Cost: $30/person (includes lunch and handout materials)
