POSITION TITLE: School Principal

BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direction and leadership of the Director of Education, the School principal will:

• Be a committed member of the AMBE leadership team:

• Promote collaboration between the three AMBE schools to ensure high achievement for all students;

• Provide dynamic educational leadership in his/her school, lead the school staff in the Success For all Initiative and should possess a solid knowledge of the AMBE education system and the Ontario Curriculum;

• Have strong vision and values to lead school activities and elevate academic growth;

• Inspire and support teachers to create a parent-welcoming environment which is key to student success;

• Lead special education services within each respective school;

• Be a strong liaison to facilitate cooperation among the various stakeholder groups in education;

• Have the ability to use tact and good judgment in order to maintain effective and positive communication with the community of Akwesasne;

• Have an appreciation of or fluency in the Kanien’keha/Mohawk Language.

SALARY: Based on existing grid.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Masters Degree in Education with a minimum of seven (7) years successful teaching experience.

Administrative/Leadership certification in education is required.
