Part Time Job Opportunity - Communications Assistant

The Mohawks of Akwesasne Community Settlement Trust (the “Trust”) is seeking a part- time (15 hours per week) Communications Assistant, under contract, to assist in the provision of communications services to the Mohawks of Akwesasne Community Settlement Trust.

The Communications Assistant will provide the following services:

• Preparation of status update reports of the activities of the Trust. This will include writing, editing of content, layout of document and incorporating with graphic components (pictures, images, graphs, charts, etc.) as required.

• Taking of official minutes during meetings;

• Posting of notices and advertising in local media;

• Assist in the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of a Trust website and social media outreach including Facebook and Twitter, to provide and share information with community members;

• Coordinate and attend community meetings and events, preparation of summary report of meetings, post report of meeting and other follow up as directed.

• Attend Trust Meetings and Trustee Working Meetings as requested;

• Assist the Trustees in development of special projects and reports as may be required; and

• Any other services as may be required by the Trustees.

It is anticipated that the work required by the Communications Assistant will involve approximately 15 hours per week with the option of increased hours pending Trust activities.
