The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne would like to inform the community that three Community Trustees were recommended for the Mohawks of Akwesasne Community Settlement Trust on July 18, 2016 and August 8, 2016 by the Mohawks of Akwesasne Community Settlement Trust Overseers. The Overseers, who receive, review and evaluate all the applications, selected these individuals based upon their completed applications, and interviews that were conducted.

The three candidates selected by the Overseers, and appointed by Council include:

Amanda Margaret Jacobs

Ronald James Lazore

Wendy M. Thompson

This Appointment in Principle of the Mohawks of Akwesasne Community Settlement Trustees will become official after a period of thirty (30) calendar days. During this 30-day period, community members are invited to comment on the appointments prior to it becoming official.
