On July 22, police ticketed Richard G. Oakes, 35, of Akwesasne, N.Y. for driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI, unsafe lane change and fail to signal. Tickets are returnable to Bombay Town Court on Aug. 9.

On July 22, police arrested Anthony L. Laughing, 44, of Hogansburg NY for a warrant from state police. He was turned over to troopers.

On July 22, police ticketed Denis A. White, 74, of Hogansburg for inadequate stop lamp. Ticket is returnable to Tribal Court on Aug. 8.

On July 22, police arrested John D. Jacobs, 42, of Akwesasne, N.Y. for first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation (felony), driving while intoxicated, unlicensed operation, improper passing, operating between lanes of traffic, improper motorcycle plate and unregistered motorcycle. Tickets are returnable to Bombay Town Court on Aug. 16.

On July 24, police arrested Nazera L. Douglas, 30, of Hogansburg for a warrant issued out of Franklin County. Douglas was released with orders to appear in court Aug. 9.

On July 25, police arrested Waneinte B. Angus, 25, of Hogansburg for three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and single counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, resisting arrest, seventh-degree criminal possession of controlled substance, obstructing governmental administration, driving while ability impaired by drugs, unlicensed operator, no lights at night (bicycle), fail to produce insurance, expired inspection and unregistered vehicle. Tickets are returnable to Bombay Town Court on Aug. 16.

On July 26, police ticketed Andris D. Rieksts, 52, of Hogansburg for inadequate headlight. Ticket is returnable to Tribal Court on Aug. 22.

On July 26, police ticketed Abraham T. Thompson, 53, of Hogansburg for inadequate taillight. Ticket is returnable to Tribal Court on Aug. 15.

On July 26, police ticketed Wennietanoran Oakes, 36, of Hogansburg for third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Ticket is returnable to Bombay Town Court on Aug. 16.

On July 28, police arrested Brian A. Lazore, 39, of Hogansburg for second-degree criminal possession of marihuana, felony. He was arraigned in Bombay Town Court and remanded to the Franklin County Jail, Malone in lieu of $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond with no return date, police said.

Massena Village Police Blotter:

On July 31, police charged Brett A. Laughing, 20, of Hogansburg with petit larceny at 11:51 a.m. at Walmart.

On July 26, police charged Danielle C. Smoke, 32, of Cree Road, Hogansburg with a warrant for third-degree assault at 1:30 p.m. after turning herself in at the police station, police said.

New York State Police Blotter:

A 17-year-old from Hogansburg was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana at 9:10 p.m. July 25 at the Massena port of entry and released with an appearance ticket.

Sentencing and pleas:

Joseph R. Arquette, 51, of Hogansburg was recently sentenced in Franklin County Court to two five-year terms of probation for two counts of second-degree criminal sale of marijuana, felonies. The charges stem from a June 1, 2015 incident. He was also ordered to repay $2,300 in restitution.

David W. Lazore, 44, of Hogansburg was sentenced in Franklin County Court to five years of probation with the first six months in county jail for felony driving while intoxicated. The charge stems from a Sept. 4, 2015 incident. He was originally charged with felony aggravated DWI, felony first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and speeding.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Corey Bigtree-Thompson, 26 of Hogansburg was arrested on August 1st, 2016 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on June 30th, 2016 Bigtree-Thompson failed to attend court for an impaired/over80 charge and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On August 1st, 2016 he was stopped at the Port of Entry and police were contacted. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.
