ABOUT THE AKWESASNE BOYS & GIRLS CLUB

Since 2001, the Akwesasne Boys & Girls Club has been providing after school and summer programs to the Akwesasne youth. Serving over 375 youth annually the club focuses on providing a safe environment for youth to learn and play.

ABOUT THE NB3 FOUNDATION AKWESASNE STRONG GRANT

The Akwesasne Strong program will be implemented to complement and enhance the diabetes prevention TRAIL Program. The program will take the current TRAIL curriculum and extend its reach to service the six and seven year olds as well as the teenagers. Strong will also educate all ABGC club members about the benefits of indoor gardening.

RFP SUMMARY:

The Akwesasne Boys & Girls Club, NB3 Foundation, Akwesasne Strong Program is seeking a consultant with experience in grant evaluation. In general, we need a consultant who will provide guidance, support and build the capacity of the ABGC team in implementing and monitoring evaluation on core functions (program development, program implementation and program outcomes) of the Akwesasne Strong Program.

Specifically, Akwesasne Strong requires a consultant who can:

• Thoroughly review the developed evaluation framework, and

• Provide a final report of your observation during the implementation of the program which will be provided to NB3 Foundation in the final report.

The final report will need to include the following;

• A description of the evaluation method used during the program implementation;

• A narrative on what objectives of the program were met or exceeded

• A narrative on if all the program paper work was kept and maintained.

PROJECT DATE

July 2016 – December 2016

EXPECTED DELIVERABLES

Final report of observations including copies notes from the project.

TIMELINE

• RFP is dated June 27, 2016

• Proposals are due no later than 5:00pm EST, Tuesday, June 14, 2016

• Proposals should be emailed or dropped off to: Jessica Cree Jock, Executive Director: jcreejock&yabgc.com

• Proposals will be evaluated immediately thereafter. During this time we may require interviews at our office June 14-June16. You will be notified if this is requested.

• The name of the consultant who has been selected will be decided on or about June 22, 2016.

• All other candidates will be notified on or about June 27, 2016.

Proposal Guidelines & Requirements

• This is an open and competitive process

• ABGC has a native preference when hiring employees or contracting with consultants.

• Proposals received after 5:00pm on June 14, 2016, will not be considered.

• The consulting fee you propose must include all expenses for which you expect to bill.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred. Formal education and training in program evaluation and or social science preferred. Minimum of five years’ experience with managing grants. Background check will be completed on successful candidate.
