A Voice from the Eastern Door

Classic, Antique, Custom and Muscle Cars Line East Orvis for Frenchie's Car Show

Huge crowds turned out to view dozens of all varieties of cars at Frenchie's "Great Northern New York Auto Show" on Saturday, May 21.

Hundreds of people showed up for the free event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A portion of East Orvis Street was blocked off. The gathering also included a bouncy house, a dunking booth and displays from Massena and Hogansburg-Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Departments and Massena Rescue. There were also fundraisers for the Boys and Girls Club of Massena and food vendors.

This year's event was open to any classic, antique, custom or muscle car. There were makes and models from the last few years going as far back at the 1920s. One of the newer vehicles, a 2007 Ford Mustang, was named "Black Sabbath" and was signed on the dashboard by drummer Vinnie Apice, who played with both Black Sabbath and Dio.

Last year's car show only featured Corvettes, Camaros and Mustangs.
