A new welcome sign was unveiled on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 for the community of Akwesasne. The result of more than two years work between the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe's Office for Economic Development, Planning & infrastructure, Maintenance, Sign-It Signs, and New York State Department of Transportation (St. Lawrence & Franklin Counties); the sign serves as a first impression for visitors and is a proud reflection of the Akwesasne community. It is the latest community beautification project that will help to promote and support our local businesses, artisans and cultural organizations.
