MENTORED WORK PLACEMENT (INTERNSHIP)

FULL-TIME TERM POSITION (March 2016) HOUSING DEPARTMENT

 


Salary Level: $11.00 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Director of Housing, the intern is expected to assist in the general operations of the Department of Housing. Types of skills acquired will be in the areas of maintenance management, project management, housing inspections, records management, and basic administration skills. Activities planned include the review of all housing inspections to determine the types of repairs that are needed to community members’ homes in order to use this data to complete a long-term Housing Strategic Plan

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Must be between the ages of 18 and 29 years of age. Must possess good oral and written communication skills; computer and typing skills i.e.: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint); must be an effective team player; must have a good sense of office organization and must be able to work independently.
