Korean Cultural Exchange Visits JOM/ABGC Summer Program

On Tuesday, August 4, 2015, the Korean Cultural Exchange made their first stop in Akwesasne to the St. Regis Mohawk School. There, about 90 students from the JOM/ABGC Steps to Success Summer Program got a chance to take part in their own cultural exchange.

The day started with some Korean dances in the morning. After, students got nametags with their names done in Korean, then they broke into groups to take part in some ice-breaking activities. After a break for lunch everyone took part in arts and crafts.

The Korean Cultural Exchange is in Akwesasne for a few days and have been coming for four years in coordination with Willie and Sandi Jock. They were at Generations Park on Wednesday and today, Thursday, August 6, from 3pm-6pm, for Vacation Bible School. On Friday at 5pm everyone is invited for a cultural exchange at Generations Park.

There will be Korean drums, Taekwondo, Puppetry, Folk Music, Mask Dance and Korean food.
