Man considered armed and dangerous arrested by Akwesasne Mohawk Police

Akwesasne Mohawk Police say they have arrested a man considered armed and dangerous by US Authorities and who has an extensive criminal history in New York State.

Twenty-seven year old Edward M. LOGAN was the subject of a Community notice on June 30th released by the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Police and New York State Parole. LOGAN was reported to be Absconding from Parole and “MAY BE ARMED AND IS CONSIDERED DANGEROUS”.

LOGAN was arrested by Akwesasne Mohawk Police for crimes he allegedly committed in Akwesasne, QC. LOGAN has been charged with Breaking and Entering with Intent to Commit, Theft under $1000 and unlawfully in a Dwelling.

He remains in custody pending a bail hearing in Valleyfield, QC.

IMPAIRED, OVER 80

Cornwall, ON – Kanathonson Horn-David, 22, of Akwesasne, was arrested on July 11th, 2015 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged in the early morning hours of July 11th, 2015 Horn-David was found to be operating a motor vehicle in the area of Pitt Street while under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on July 23rd, 2015.

PUBLIC ASSISTANCE

Cornwall, ON – The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating a collision that occurred on July 14th, 2015 in the area of Sydney Street and Ninth Street at approximately 9:15 am between a cyclist and a blue Ford Taurus. As a result of the collision the 70-year-old cyclist was sent to hospital with serious injuries and later succumbed to his injuries.

The Cornwall Community Police Service is asking anyone who may have witnessed this collision or has any information about the matter to contact Cst. Matthew Dupuis at 933-5000 ext.2755.
