Akwesasne Wolves Novice B Wins Tourney

The Akwesasne Wolves Novice "B" Minor hockey club recently hosted and won their tournament held on Cornwall Island and Cornwall. Teams included North Dundas, Athens Aeros, Charlan, West Island and South Stormont.

The action started Friday night with the Wolves Novice team meeting and playing North Dundas with a 3-3 tie.

Dayne Thomas scored twice in that game with Shako Rice chipping in one.

Ryder Sunday collected two assists and Rice also assisted.

In Akwesasne's second game they blanked Montreal's West Island 9-0 with Keegan Delormier getting the shut out.

Thomas scored a hat trick in this game with Wyatt Landry netting a pair.

Kinley Rourke, Sunday, Rice and Myles Cook added one each as well as Rice collecting three assists.

That game put them in the championship against South Stormont.

Thomas continued his goal scoring with three to lead Akwesasne to an 8-3 win.

Rice, Addison Oakes-Cook, Landry Rourke and Cook all chipped in with one.

In other final play Charlan led Athens 3-0 before Athens mounted a comeback but fell short 3-2.

In the other final North Dundas blanked West Island 8-0.
